First of all I want to thank you from the bottom of my very loving, book filled, heart for taking the time to visit my blog and seek out my review policy!
My reviews consist of general information about the book (page number, title, publisher and a brief synopsis). I don’t tend to post very analytical reviews, my reviews are mostly my opinion and thoughts about the book, bits I liked and parts I didn’t.
The most important thing I wish to stress is that I always post honest reviews. This of course means that occasionally my review might not be a positive review but I have to put my opinion and views on the book! I don’t like posting negative reviews and I will always mention the good things about the book even if I didn’t particularly enjoy it myself!
I also use a five star rating in my reviews:
★★★★★ – absolutely loved this book! Highly recommend! EVERYONE MUST READ.
★★★★☆ -this book was fabulous! Couple of points that I didn’t like but nothing that stopped me from thoroughly enjoying it!
★★★☆☆ – Overall I enjoyed this book. There were definitely points that let it down but it was a good read.
★★☆☆☆ – “meh” this book really wasn’t for me. I managed to finish it but I can’t say I overly enjoyed it.
★☆☆☆☆ – This book was a total no-go. I didn’t even manage to finish it. Not reccommened.
How long will my review take?
It usually takes 3 or 4 days for me to read and reviews a book but I always have a long line of books that need to be read and reviewed and so certain books take priority.
First of all books that I have requested myself take first priority. Then books that are being reviewed pre-release I always try to get my review out in the two or three weeks surrounding the release date (usually in the week before). It should never take longer than a month and a half for me to get the reviews up in my blog. Usually when I accept a book I can inform you approx when you can expect to see my review.
I post my reviews in my blog and usually also on amazon and goodreads where possible!
Types of books I will accept for review!
Genres; I will accept mainly YA fiction, but I will also consider children’s fiction (age 7-12), adult fiction (no erotica). Romance, science fiction, historical fiction, fantasy, horror and paranormal fiction are all genres I will consider for review.
Format; I will accept paperback and hardback copies of books. I will also consider ebooks,(preferably through netgalley). I do accept ARCs and manuscripts aswell.
Series; I do not accept books from mid-series. If you would like me to review the second or third book in a series I do ask that you send me the previous books so that my review can be more effective.
Types of book I will NOT accept for review!
Note; It is rare that I refuse to review a book, but I do reserve my right to say no. If I am sure the book won’t interest me or if it has a time constraint/deadline (such as before publication) that I can’t make, or if I have already read the book I will reject.
I do not accept children’s books under the age of 7, picture books or erotica fiction. It is rare that I will accept biographies or other non-fiction.
Interviews; I am willing to do interviews with both authors and publishers. I prefer to have read the authors book before agreeing to an interview, and I also ask for enough time to read the book before submitting questions.
Blog Tours; I am interested in taking part in blog tours! I just ask for enough notice for me to plan my post and read the book.
Giveaways; I am more than happy to host giveaways on my blog. Just drop me and email and we can fix out the details!
Cover Reveals; Cover reveals are one of my favourite things so don’t hesitate to ask me to get involved! It is rare that I will refuse.
Guest Posts; If you would like to write a guest post on my blog do get in contact as I think this is a great idea and I will consider all offers, usually accepting, depending on the topic of the post!
If you would like me to do a review or interview (or anything else mentioned above) my contact email is emilyheritage @ hotmail . co . uk
